The MBL will have a Langsdorf League entry for the 2010 season.

This team is comprised of MBL All-Stars who are interested in playing more games at a very high level while at the peak of their careers.  We will also have players from Wisconsin Lutheran College and a few other local colleges.  The ultimate goal of this team is provide one of the highest levels of ameteur play in the state within a few years.

Langsdorf is a wood bat league with better players from various leagues in the area.  Teams are from Milwaukee, West Allis, Racine, Burlington, Kenosha and Genoa City.

Players must be willing to participate in a youth baseball program as coaches/counselors and/or fundraising activities.  Please send an This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   ASAP.  Click Read more to see the practice and game schedule.

About the team and organization:

Langsdorf League Website

Finances: Wisquote.com Insurance Services, LLC and other sponsors will support the team.  We plan to have the team mentioned in the press as we will be active in the community via a youth baseball program.  We hope to make this team that has the sort of talent level that can send a player from time to time to the independent professional league.

Home Field: Wisconsin Lutheran College

Players: A core of MBL players and players from local colleges.  We plan to carry 20 or 21 playersith at least six pitchers and three catchers.  Cost is $120 per player, however, players from the colleges whose fields we are using may do field prep instead of pay the fee.  In general, this will be a team of 20 something-year-olds who are very serious about playing at a high level.

Playing Time: All players will get a minimum of 1/3 of the available innings of games they attend (in aggregate, not necessarily per game).  Pitchers will be on a strict 90 pitch count.  Players missing games without notification and/or more than two weeks worth of games will likely be replaced on the roster.

Manager: Steve Rappl.  He's managed the reigning MBL champs the past two years and this year was our manager of the year.  We are looking for an assitant manager/player, and a team captain to be selected by the team.

GM: Kirk Spano will be handling roster make-up with input from Steve and the assistant coach.

I'm confident that given the strong sponsorship, relationship with MBL and two colleges, that keeping this team active and competitive will not be a problem.  We are going to make a commitment to doing a charity youth baseball program (camp potentially) with a city organization and a fund raiser as well.

If you are a top MBL baseball player or local college player, and interested in this team, contact us ASAP regarding playing on this team.

2009 Playoffs

Update:
PJ's Pub Tigers ranked 3rd in state and Southshore All-Stars ranked 5th, in final Wisconsin Amateur Baseball Rankings.

PJ's Tigers 6 South Shore All-Stars 3
The 2009 Milwaukee Baseball League Championship match up featured 3 time MBL champion South Shore All-Stars sponsored by All-Star Sportswear hosting defending champion PJ's Tigers. South Shore All-Stars were looking to regain their title as champion against the team who currently held that title. Southshore sent their undefeated ace Tony Landgraf to the mound who was 7-0 during the regular season with a 1.96 ERA. PJ's, countered with 2008 Playoff MVP, Andy Monigal who went 3-0 on the regular season. With the stage set, all that was left was for the game to be played. The first two innings went by without a run being scored, but in the top of the third, Andy Monigal led off with a sinking line drive to right-center field, that trickled all the way to the fence for a triple. Monigal would score on a sac-fly by the next batter Eric Cluppert.

Veterans Division 2010

The Milwaukee Baseball League has added a Veteran’s Division for 2010.  Click "Read More" for what we are thinking and status updates.

The league is composed primarily of MBL veteran players who are seeking to extend their baseball career well into their 30s.  The league is designed to be competitive while providing a gentlemanly recreational outlet.  The division will play Sundays, with some Fridays (more for teams that would like to have their Saturday/Sunday off a couple times per year for other endeavors), with a midweek expanded schedule for teams looking for even more games.

Managers of teams or groups who would like to be considered being added to the league please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   ASAP.
