In a game shortened due to the time limit rule, the Braves jumped all over O'Briens pitchers in this game. O'Briens got an early 1-0 lead after the top of the first, then the Braves started pouring it on thick. Leading after the 1st 4-1 the Braves would never lose their lead. Nick Voltner pitched a heck of a game and had some brilliant defense behind him. O'Briens pitchers had an off day from they way they normally pitch. The bright spot for O'Briens was Dan Wilfrath going 3 for 3 with 3 Runs & 1 Home Run.

PJ's Tigers 19 Varsity Club Bulldawgs 1
PJ's Tigers defeated Varsity Club Bulldawgs 19-1, in game 2, of a must win game for the Tigers, at Zirkel Field. It was a must win game for the Tigers because unknown to anyone outside of the Tigers, a heated argument between player and manager happened just moments before game 1 and it had a very negative effect on team moral heading into the first game. And it showed as the Tigers were flat in a 5-2 loss to the bull dawgs. But instead of turning against each other in game 2, they rallied together, and collected 18 hits and scored 19 runs in the Victory. Leading the hit parade was Jason Maaske, who was 5 for 5, with a double & 3 runs scored. Andy Monigal, who was 4 for 5 with 4 Runs scored, Scott Rappl, who was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI & 3 Runs scored, Eric Cluppert, who was 2 for 3, with 2 walks, 4 RBI & 4 Runs scored, Cory McEwen, who was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI and a double & 2 runs scored. Matt Duranso, who was 2 for 4, with a couple of runs & 2 RBI, Kevin Tapper, who was 2 for 4, with a couple runs and 2 RBI, & game one pitcher, Kyle Knaust (who would have given up only one run in game one with a better catcher behind the plate) chipped in with a 2 for 4 day, which included a couple runs & 2 RBI. But the performance that might have been forgotten in the offensive hit parade, was the performance on the mound of Richard (Ricky) Pease. Ricky turned in 5 solid innings and only allowed one run to score. The Victory gave Pease a 1-0 record on the year. With the win, the Tigers record improved their record to 4-2 overall heading into next weeks game against the expansion team the St. Francis A's.

Varsity Club Bulldawgs 5 PJ's Tigers 2

For PJ's Tigers Andy Monigal was 2 for 4 with 3 stolen bases & 2 runs scored. Cory McEwen was 1 for 4 with 1 double & 1 RBI. Leff's Lucky Town Americans 10 Town and Lake Realty Braves 4
In game one of a doubleheader that Leff's needed to sweep to get back into the playoff race, Jared Catenacci, John Kuhn and Alex Rejniak got Leff's on the board early with 2 runs in the first inning. Catenacci was hit with the first pitch and John Kuhn followed with a single. Rejniak with two outs then hit a single scoring both runners after John Kuhn's steal. The Braves got one in their half of the first, but that would be their last meaningful challenge as Leff's defense made the key plays, led by Steve Gustafason in centerfield and Aaron Bielawski at second base.  Leff's added two runs in the second and three in the third as Rob Tschimperle, Jeremy Kroll and Jarrett Gates all contributed hits.  In the sixth, Mike Schroeder helped his pitching cause with his second homer of the season, an exclamation point 380 foot home run which drove in John Kuhn after Kuhn's 3rd hit of the day, a double to the wall.

Schroeder worked a game plan to perfection controlling the game on his way to the victory, while dealing with symptoms of the heat which caused him to be sick and need ice packs.  Rejniak pitched a final scoreless inning.  Catenacci went 2-4, 4r, bi; John Kuhn 4-4, 3r, 2bi and Rejniak 3-4, 3bi.  Adam Graves had two hits for the Braves, while three other Braves were ejected.

Leff's Lucky Town Americans 3 Town and Lake Realty Braves 1
In game two of a key doubleheader, Leff's pitcher Rob Tschimperle pitched a gutty game, allowing only three hits in six innings en route to the sweep of the Brave's. The defense behind him got the job done in the middle innings until Tschimperle asserted himself strongly in the fifth and sixth getting five strikeouts over those two innings. In the sixth, "Chimp" recorded three of those strikeouts, including of a Braves pinch hitter.  Alex Rejniak pitched a scoreless final inning getting the save, with two strikeouts including striking out the final hitter on a nasty breaking ball.  Jared Catenacci had two hits and a run scored for Leff's.  Rejniak had the game winning RBI.
