St. Francis A’s 3 Town & Lake Realty Braves 2 The St. Francis A’s won a pitching duel Friday night against Town & Lake Realty Braves 3-2 at Zirkel Field. Mike Jelacic earned the win, his first of the season, to improve St. Francis’ record to 4-6. Jelacic pitched a complete game allowing 2 Runs ( 0 ER), 7 Hits, 0 BB, and 7 K’s. The Braves got good pitching from starter Nick Voltner who pitched 6 2/3 innings allowing 3 Runs ( 1 ER), 8 Hits, 2 BB, and 6 K’s. The A’s were first to get on the scoreboard in the 4th when Ernie Zuberbuehler scored on a Jordan Lile groundball to shortstop. The Braves took the lead 2-1 in the 6th when Teske lead off with a single followed by a Samz double, both would score on errors in the inning. St. Francis was down to their final out in the top of the 7th when Paul Kolancheck walked, followed by a Mike Jelacic single moving Kolancheck to third. Ernie Zuberbuehler smashed a line drive to center scoring Kolancheck and moving Jelacic to third. Jeff Diven’s bloop single scored Jelacic from third which proved to be the winning run. Mike Jelacic lead the A’s going 2 for 3 with a walk and run scored and Ernie Zuberbuheler was 1 for 4 with an RBI. The Braves had two players with mulit-hit games. Teske was 3 for 3 with a run scored and Samz was 2 for 3 with a 2B and a run scored. The loss gives the Braves a 5-5 record on the year.
Supreme Builders 6 Steakout Black Sox 1 Builder's Brendon Dorn commanded the first game of the double header against the Black Sox. He earned the complete game victory by allowing three hits, no earned runs, and serving five strikeouts. For Supreme, Colin Moser and Sean Carolan had two hits apiece to lead their offense. Jason Koller was the leading hitter for Steakout going one for two with a run scored.
Club Paragon Phillies 5 Leff's Lucky Town 4 On a hard fought, extra inning game, the Club Paragon Phillies defeated Leff's Tosa Grads, 5-4. First year pitcher Ryan Roufus shouldered the load, going all 8 inngings, firing 18 ks, and only allowing 3 hits. Offensively for Club Paragon, Jimmy Kuriatnyk went 3-4 scoring one time, while Trevor Burg went 2-4 and had an RBI himself. Kurt Kappeler also knocked in 2 RBIs with a single himself. For Leff's Tosa Grads, Rob Tshcimperle went the distance, throwing 13 ks himself, while Jeff Lazewski blasted a two run homer to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh.
Leff's Lucky Town 13 Club Paragon Phillies 2 After missing a golden opportunity to steal game one of the doubleheader, Leff's bats exploded in game two. Down one to nothing in the third inning with one out, Kirk Spano lined a single to left (that's right, I pulled it) to start a rally that would become a five run rally. Mike Schroeder picked up another win going five complete.
PJ's Tigers 5 O'Brien's/Milwaukee HD Orioles 0 PJ's Tigers defeated O'Brien's 5 to 0 in game one of a double header at Zirkel Field. The story of the game was the pitching performance by West Allis Hale alumni Kyle Knaust. Kyle pitched a complete game, allowing only 3 hits with 6 strikeouts.The win improved his pitching record to 3-1 overall on the season. At the plate, the Tigers scattered 10 hits and scored 5 runs. Justin Gelhausen led the way with a 3 for 4 day, which included 2 RBI, Jason Maaske chipped in with a 2 for 3 day, a run scored and 2 RBI, Cory McEwen was 1 for 3 with a run scored, Scott Rappl was one 1 for 3 with a run scored, Eric Cluppert was 1 for 3 with a run scored, Andy Monigal also collected a hit & a run scored. The win improved the Tigers record to 8-2 on the season. Pitching for O'Briens was Dan Wilfrath who took the tough loss pitching a complete game giving up 4 earned runs.
O'Brien's/Milwaukee HD 18 PJ's Tigers 8 In game 2 of the doubleheader O'Brien's/Milwaukee HD bats finally came back to life pounding out 18 runs on 17 hits. The Orioles scored six in the first but only held a 7-6 lead after five innings as PJ's hit their way back into the game. An eight run sixth inning put the game away and gave the Orioles a split in the DH. Leading the attack was Tim Heling (4-6 triple 3RBI 3R), Doug Dollhopf (3-5 double 4RBI 2R), and Dave Pangallo (3-4 double 3RBI 4R). Cory McEwen (3 for 4 with 2 runs) and Matt Duranso (3 for 4 2 doubles) led the offense for the Tigers. Jim Vielbaum picked up the win while Steve Rappl got the loss. |
